Porous silica gel "Shinwasorb"
Macro porous silica gel designed based on kaolin clay.
Shinwasorb is an original porous silica powder from Shinwa Chemical. It was designed and developed using monolithic silica technology, inspired by the widely used white diatomaceous earth (Chromosorb) in gas chromatography. It has an appearance, physical strength, and heat resistance similar to white diatomaceous earth. As a result, it addresses the issues associated with natural diatomaceous earth that requires soil mining (reproducibility, impurities, environmental impact). As a new material that aligns with the SDGs, it can be widely used as an alternative to diatomaceous earth for gas chromatography. ■ Features of Shinwasorb (as a carrier for gas chromatography) - There is no variation between lots since it is a chemically synthesized product. - There are almost no micropores (micro and mesopores), resulting in no adsorption of components. - It is high-purity silica and does not contain heavy metals or other impurities. - It has excellent physical strength and generates very little fine powder. - It has a specific surface area equal to or greater than that of diatomaceous earth carriers. - It can be coated with a variety of liquid phases (silicones) for gas chromatography.
